A major PET preform manufacturer was running one of the largest injection-to-blow-molding operations in North America, and the existing manual process for moving freshly-molded preforms between machines was capping the plant’s economics. A fleet of Husky injection molders had to feed a separate fleet of Sidel blow molders, but the only path between them was hand-stacking preforms into Gaylord boxes when blow molders went down, then rehandling everything later. Every move added labor cost. Every transfer added scuff damage. And every contact surface had to clear FDA requirements for food and beverage packaging.
The fix was not a single conveyor. It was an integrated, multi-line, FDA-compliant transport system, with a control architecture clever enough to keep injection molding running even when blow molding stalled, engineered to fit overhead and built entirely from FDA-approved contact surfaces.
